Currently, Dr. Keller is working on an essay for Oxford University Press on “West African Photography” and is developing a major retrospective exhibition and catalog of Malian photography to tour the United States, France, and Mali in 2022-2023.
Imaging Culture: Photography in Mali, West Africa. Complete book manuscript. Under contract with Indiana University Press since February 2015. Expected publication in 2018.

To address ethical issues regarding the collection, presentation, and dissemination of Malian photographic archives in the global art market, Keller authored “Framed and Hidden Histories,” an article published by African Arts journal in 2014.

Advancing scholarship on African modernities and transcultural exchange, Dr. Keller published two chapters in edited volumes on fashion and popular culture in Africa (“Transculturated Displays,” Berg Press, 2013) and traditions of African portraiture and photographic practice (“Visual Griots,” Indiana University Press, 2013).
